Research data availability policy

As part of its commitment to Open Science, and in accordance with the criteria established by CONICET and Law No. 26,899, the journal promotes transparency, accessibility, reuse, and reproducibility in scientific research. In this context, authors are required to declare the availability of the data supporting their research and, where applicable, provide information regarding its deposit, location, accessibility, and interoperability.

Authors are encouraged to deposit their research data in an institutional, disciplinary, or multidisciplinary repository and to provide the information necessary to locate the data through a persistent identifier, such as a DOI or Handle, or through a URL. Authors are also encouraged to specify the conditions and license under which the data may be used and, whenever possible, to apply an open license, such as a Creative Commons license.

Access restrictions

When access to research data is restricted, authors must provide a clear explanation of the reasons justifying such restrictions, including the presence of personal or sensitive data, privacy protection, security, confidentiality, legal or ethical restrictions, intellectual property rights, or agreements with third parties.

For research involving human participants, data availability must be consistent with the conditions of informed consent, the applicable ethical approval, and relevant data protection and confidentiality regulations.

Data availability statement

Upon submitting an article, authors must declare the status of the data supporting their research by selecting the applicable option:

  • Data available in a repository: The data have been deposited in a repository. Authors must provide the repository name, link, and, where available, the persistent identifier (e.g., DOI or Handle).
  • Data available with restricted access: The data are available, but access is restricted for ethical, legal, confidentiality, personal data protection, intellectual property, third-party agreement, or other justified reasons.
  • Data available upon request: The data may be requested from the authors, subject to applicable ethical, legal, and institutional requirements. Authors are encouraged to indicate the procedure for submitting a request.
  • Data not available: The data cannot be shared due to ethical, legal, confidentiality, or other justified restrictions. Authors must state the reason.
  • Deposit in progress: The authors have the data, but their deposit in a repository is still in progress. Authors undertake to inform the journal once the deposit has been completed, providing the repository name, link or persistent identifier, and access conditions. The journal will include this information on the published article's webpage, together with the corresponding link.
  • Not applicable: The study did not generate or analyze data that require availability.
