Técnica de tracción para reparación de lesiones de la raíz posterior del menisco lateral tipo IV
Keywords:
arthroscopy, knee, lateral meniscus, posterior rootAbstract
The menisci are defined as a fibrocartilaginous structure which has specific morphological and functional characteristics, forcing us to keep in mind a broad knowledge of their anatomy. Meniscal type tears have a superior presentation when compared to other injuries. Injuries to the posterior root of the lateral meniscus generate an evident biomechanical alteration with serious consequences if not treated. The low prevalence of certain degrees of injuries that can occur at this level forces us to present new therapeutic options and strategies. The lack of scientific evidence that addresses this issue allows the decision to communicate it.
A horizontal configuration repair technique is described using the FirstPass™ and FasT-Fix system in type IV tears with a controlled traction method providing an anatomical and stable repair.
