Plagiarism Prevention
RELART uses the Similarity Check to help ensure the originality of the articles
Published. All decisions related to plagiarism cases are made in accordance with the
COPE guidelines. The entire process is handled transparently, with a focus on
education and respect for authors.
Similarity review procedure:
- Initial Analysis, at the time the article is received
- Analysis of the results to identify possible matches. Special Lending
attention to substantial similarities that could indicate plagiarism, although
considers context (e.g., appropriately referenced citations vs.
coincidences not cited).
- Final decision according to the level of coincidence:
- Correct and adequate citation: it will not be considered plagiarism.
- Minor plagiarism: the author will be notified to make the relevant adjustments in the
citation or rewriting affected sections
- Substantial or intentional plagiarism: COPE guidelines will be followed
- Transparent notification and communication: if plagiarism is detected, the authors will be
formally notified and will be offered the opportunity to respond and
